A person has everything to lose because he has fame, money and social standing. Heather Mills sued former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney for alimony amounting to £10,000 a day in a bitter divorce that looks set to be a long-drawn out and nasty affair. She has nothing to lose. She is a former model with a shady reputation of having been involved in high class prostitution. Her clients were reputedly people who have rubbed shoulders with the former Beatle, Sir McCartney. She is a greedy money digger and a lusty bitch, but she is not denying it. What would she do with a good reputation? Money would be a better security.

They were somebody’s sister, mother, aunt, or girlfriend and had been living a perfectly decent life when they were captured in the thousands to service the Japanese army during World War II. They were forced to serve countless Japanese soldiers as sexual slaves or comfort women in army brothels; they must have been tortured, shamed, abused and degraded by the enemy at a time of war. Their loved ones might have been killed by the very people they were forced to have sex with. And some of these women survive to this day to tell the tale, but carrying with them a lifetime of physical and emotional scars as well as a history of shame and outrage.

After all, it takes two to tango and the adulterous parties must face the music for their sexual pleasure. This might deter future adulterers as money is a hard-earned commodity and will cool any short-lived passion. Again, perhaps it might not. Come to think of it, soured marriage partners might also frame their other half to get alimony and compensation to boot.
