paris-hilton.jpg, a webpage featuring Paris Hilton’s personal belongings was shut down yesterday after the hotel heiress slapped the operators with a federal lawsuit.

The webpage was launched couple of weeks ago and allowed visitors to view the STARS ARE BLIND singer’s medical records, personal diaries and home videos for a fee. The website claimed that it bought the items when Hilton failed to keep up payments on a storage facility in Los Angeles – the company passed the possessions to a broker who in turn sold them to the site’s owners.

Paris Hilton, the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotel chain, claimed that the claimed the items were put in storage two years ago when she and her sister moved house after being burglarized and that the moving company was told to pay the storage fees.

Hilton’s lawyer, Gregory Korn argued that Paris Hilton could be in danger due to what have done by the web. Some of her personal information, such credit card receipts and passport, could be used to steal her identity or provide information to potential stalkers.

The lawsuit alleged defendants NABIL and NABILA HANISS of Culver City, California paid $2,775 (GBP1,500) for the items which were then sold to web owner Bardia Persa for $10 million (GBP5.25 million).
