Interesting StuffHow far should a father go to toilet-train his baby son? One man slapped and caned his 11-month-old baby for urinating in his pants. The baby was unconscious for about 45 minutes in which time the panic-stricken father tried to revive the baby by shaking him. The baby died later of injury to the head caused by a sharp object, intense trauma and shaking. Post-mortem showed that the baby also had bruises all over his body. The father pleaded guilty to culpable homicide and asked for a lenient sentence as he regretted his actions and had a wife and five-year-old son to care for.

My India’s 150th Anniversary – First War of Independence
Interesting StuffIn Delhi, India, where the 150th anniversary of India’s first revolt against British rule was celebrated with performers reenacted scenes from the war.
This feature of 1857 is something special and relevant to contemporary India. The use of the term ‘Hindustan’ in the proclamations of both Hindu and Muslim united under the Muslim king to fight the Raj(empire). Both Hindus and Muslim sepoys(military troops), in fact, declared that the rebellion was a holy war. Zafar, the guardian of the faith for both Hindus and Muslims, was an unusual king.
Many historians said it was not ‘mutiny’ between British and the sepoys but the first war of Indian independence.
It was during the sixteen century where British Empire granted trading rights to a group of London merchants — a group that would become the East India Company.
