ABC Offers Primetime Shows for Free Downloads on AOL Video

Good news for those who like to watch free online shows as ABC’s announcement of its free download service after NBC Universal made the similar announcement almost the same day. The service launched is available at video.aol.com.

ABC will offer the shows on AOL Video one day after they premiere on TV through an “ABC.com on AOL” player. According to the press release, four episodes of each series will generally be available at one time.

Man Dies of Exhaustion after 3-day Online Gaming Binge

A 30-year-old man in China was died after a three days non-stop playing Internet games at a cybercafe in the city of Guangzhou on Sept. 15, 2007, the Beijing News reported. About 100 Web surfers witnessed the incident in that afternoon and left the cybercafe in fear.

dsc07230bw5.jpg The Malaysia’s former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim exposed a video showing a senior lawyer VK Lingam talking to the Malaysia Chief Justice Tun Ahmad Fairus Abdul Halim and the content of the conversation involved a conspiracy to influence the appointment of senior judges and pervert the cause of justice. The video was exposed by the most controversial and charismatic figure in Malaysian politics, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in a press conference. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim commented that this video managed to prove that his appeals against his sodomy and abuse of power convictions were tainted and that he was denied a proper and fair trial.

Happy 25th Anniversary for Smiley Face Emoticon

On 19thSept.1982, it was Smiley Emoticon infamous three strokes, a colon followed by a hyphen and a parenthesis to bring out the emotion of the message written. Read it sideway, “:-)” equals to 🙂 the smiley face denotes happiness or humourous or as good as a joke while by reversing the parenthesis, “:-(” equals to 🙁 would denote unhappiness or a frown.

Back in 1982, computers are only limited to users amongst colleagues, faculties and students where online bulletin board message was often misinterpreted, to send or read electronic messages, files and other of general interest and address to daily news, lost and found items, and more. University professor Scott E. Fahlman then came up a idea to straighten thing right to how the message board could be taken lightly as a joke as for a smiley face emoticon while the opposite would imply displeasure or the seriousness of the issue.
