TVB highest earning artist for 2006

charmine.jpgIt was reported that actress Charmaine Sheh has the highest earning as a TVB artist of the year. She makes HK$7.2 million in 2006 from her TVB contract, TV commercials and as special guest for various events.

Second on the list is actress Bernice Liu, who makes HK$6 million.

Third is Roger Kwok with HK$5.3 million.

Forth is actress Gigi Lai and fifh is actor Kevin Cheng.

flowerfestival.jpgChiang Mai is a city in north Thailand. It is well known as a city which is saturated with evidences of an age-old civilisation. There are lots of archaeological sites, ancient temples, shimmering pagodas, and time-weathered city walls which leads to giving Chiang Mai its exotic connotation.

One of Chiang Mai’s great tourist attractions period falls in February every year. It is the annual flower carnival which attracts international visitors along with the locals. Early February is the perfect time for this festival because of the climate conditions during this period. The cool of the winter allows the cultivation of not only exotic tropical flowers, such as orchids, but also blooms like carnations,roses and chrysanthemums. Throughout the years, as Chiang Mai became more widely known for its magnificent array of floral beauty, it eventually gained the title of ‘The Rose of the North’.

Paris Hilton, singer cum actress will star in print and television ads for Fila Korea.

The one year modelling contract is said to be worth W1-1.5billions dollars. The shooting for the print and broadcast ads will take place this month in Los Angeles. It was mentioned that Paris was chosen because of her sophisticated style which matches Fila’s image.

History is a controversial issue in East Asia today.

The Yomiuri Shimbun, the largest daily paper in Japan, with a right of center editorial position, has recently completed a year-long project to clarify Japanese leaders’ responsibility for the Pacific War. Such an undertaking is very rare in Japan.

Why did the Yomiuri launch this campaign? To what extent was its conclusion different from the judgments of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East? How was it accepted by
Japanese?

Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti, (April 28, 1937 – December 30, 2006), was the President of Iraq from July 16, 1979, until April 9, 2003.

“Clutching a Quran and refusing a hood, Saddam Hussein went to the gallows before sunrise yesterday. The 69-year-od former strongman remained defiant to the last, railing against his Iranian and American enemies and praising the rebels who have pushed Iraq to the brink of civil war.”

“Minutes after news of Saddam’s death reached the United States, hundreds of Iraqi-Americans blocked traffic in a spontaneous outpouring of joy. Chants of “Now there’s peace, Saddam is dead” in English and Arabic rang into the night in this Detroit suburb.”

The flamboyant rock group Queen upstaged the Beatles in a recent vote organized by BBC Radio to win the title of “Greatest British Band of All Time”. Queen garnered 400 more votes than the Beatles when more than listeners were asked to choose from amongst five bands that also included the Rolling Stones, Take That and Oasis. These five emerged from a list of thousands of nominations.
