You know the shops which sell dung shaped ornaments and dung magnets? And you thought they were disgusting? Well, two pieces of dinosaur dung have been auctioned off for $960 in New York. The 130-million-year-old fossilized dung looks like a rock on the external and contains a colorful mineral within. The buyer, Steve Tesngas, is in the business of treating animal waste. He wants to make the point that “Poop is big business in the pet industry.” In this case, the bigger and older the dung, the more valuable it is.

A nine-year-old boy Joe Allison, from Totnes, Devon, broke a world record by hanging 16 pieces of spoons on his face. Joe Allison’s face just like a magnet, he can hang five spoons on his forehead, one on nose, two on chin, three on each cheek and one on each ear, total 16 spoons. But he didn’t know how it works, he said “they just stick on.”

Lebua, meaning lotus, will be the next iconic hotel in Thailand – so claimed the hotelier who turned a struggling US$60 a night hotel into a five-star winner with room rates starting at US$295 a night. And Deepak Ohri, the man behind the now famous five-star luxury hotel, did it within two years. Lotus is a flowering plant which has a special symbolism in Buddhist religious ceremonies; it signifies purity, beauty and resilience because it grows in muddy ponds. An apt name for a hotel with a similarly ironic story.
