One in ten women suffers from severe period cramps. This is a sign of endometriosis, a condition when the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus grows outside the uterus. Such tissue is usually expelled in the menstrual cycle, but women who have endometriosis retain this tissue, leading to ovarian cysts, which are functional, benign or cancerous. Endometriosis causes severe pain before and after period as well as during sex and can lead to difficulty to conceive or infertility. It is a major cause of infertility among women in their late twenties or early thirties.

A woman was subject to repeated breathalyzer tests in a futile attempt to charge her with drinking. Liquor consumption by Muslims was forbidden in Islamic country, Malaysia. The woman was singled out because she had been caught wearing revealing clothes and singing in a nightclub. Her attire: a pair of long, black pants and a white sleeveless top. A case of indecent exposure or overzealous enforcement officers? “Is this sexy? Sometimes I wear this out during the day.”

The woman was ordered to go before the Islamic court to face charges of exposing her body and promoting vice. She was told that any man or woman, who works in a place where alcohol is served and immoral activities are likely to take place, is considered to have deviated from Quranic teachings. She was remanded with four members of her band.

A woman can expose her breasts anywhere in New York as long as she is feeding her baby. New York law states that women are allowed to breastfeed in any place “public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be.” If you are embarrassed, discomfited or offended by the sight of exposed tits, you have to remove yourself for the mother has the right of law. Breastfeeding is no indecent exposure.

Fossil Inc. recently agreed to pay a mother of two, Lass King, who was prevented from breastfeeding in its company showroom. King received $3600 and a letter of apology after threatening the company with a lawsuit.

What an ingenious way for a disguise: wrap yourselves up in a burqa to rob a bank! Two armed men concealed themselves in a burqa, or long head-to-toe robes with veils worn by Muslim women, and promptly got away with $40,000 from a bank in Sarajevo. As the guards, staff and customers thought they were women, the robbers did not raise any suspicion until it was too late. The customers were made to lie on the floor while the daring robbers emptied tills and escaped with their loot.

The burqa, an outer sign of pious faith and submission to the teachings of Islam, is ironically used as a means for deceit, unlawful activity and personal gain.

The enigmatic and handsome Daniel Radcliffe has grown up and so has the character he plays. Harry Potter is no longer the little schoolboy who first appeared on the screen but a teenager with emotional confusion and angst. He is emotionally vulnerable and the sensitive-looking Radcliffe fitted the role to perfection. His friends became more significant in his understanding of himself and the characters of Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) deepened accordingly. Ron Weasley, for example, stood out in certain scenes to show that he has come out of his friend, Harry Potter’s shadows. The film, like the book, has improved with age, much like vintage wine.
