For decades , Israel archeologists searching for Herod’s tomb and it was Hebrew University Professor Nevzter found the sited called Herodium , built on the edge of the desert, south of Jerusalem focusing on the first century historian Flavius Josephus on his first volume of ‘ The Wars of the Jews’ – description and Herod’s funeral procession.
The first ever discovery unearth five tombs , row of stones seating with flagged pavements believed to be ancient theatre.
Herod became the ruler of the Holy Land under the Romans around 37 B.C and died in 4 B.C. in Jericho. Under his command , he embarked on numerous huge construction projects in Caesaria, Jericho, the hill top fortress of Massada and the Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem, which still stands today.
