“Life in a Metro” was premiered at Leicester Square in London last Tuesday. The famous Bollywood star, Shilpa Shetty was at the premier.



The movie directed by Anurag Basu is about a collection of tales in urban life. It is a story of several characters whose lives are marked with ambition, greed, lust, sex, despair, failure and hope. There is a bored housewife who embarks on an illicit friendship, a 30 years old virgin who tries to find love through dating websites, a young man who desperately tries to make his way in the business world and a husband who cheats on his wife. Their everyday lives are thrown into turmoil in their pursuit of love and happiness.

Emotions run amok in a city which fights for attention, staying on top means running someone down, promotion means sidelining someone else while love means a ‘no strings attached’ tryst in an empty flat.

The movie has a great casts including Shilpa Shetty, Kay Kay Menon, Shiney Ahuja, Kangana Ranaut, Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma and Sharman Joshi. The movie will be released in cinemas across the world on 11 May 2007.

Shilpa Shetty was lately engaged in a kissing controversy incident in India. Richard Gere had kissed her on an AIDS awareness function in New Delhi last month evoking protests by some who alleged it to be an affront on the Indian cultural ethos.
