An 83-year-old woman, Gwen Williams was attacked and killed by an alligator in Georgia. It was the first time an alligator killed a person in Georgia since 1980.

Gwen Williams’ mauled body was spotted in a pond about 500 feet from her home by a couple who was riding in a golf cart; her left arm, right hand and right foot were missing and she was died from blood loss from “wounds consistent with those of an alligator attack.”

Investigators judging by the size of its bite, they estimate the alligator that attacked Gwen Williams was seven feet long.

There were eight reported cases of alligator attacks happened in Georgia since 1980 but none of those were fatal.
