To mark the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death, the German daily Bild is having a competition for its readers to paint the best portrait of Princess Diana. Bild is the top selling daily paper in German.

Princess Diana died in Paris ten years ago as she was being driven with her boyfriend Dodi al-Fayed at high speed in a tunnel.

“Ten years ago, on August 31, Lady Di died in Paris,” the paper said on its front page. “She lives on in millions of hearts … Dear readers, paint Diana, how she was, how she is remembered.”

Three best paintings will be chosen and announced on August 31, 2007. The winners will win a trip to London and a helicopter flight over Diana’s grave at Althorp Park north of the city.
