Finally, the winners of New Seven Wonders of the World were announced at a televised ceremony in Lisbon’s Stadium of Light on 07.07.07. In worldwide poll of 100 million online voters named the seven new wonders of the world. The Great Wall of China had the most votes, the other six new wonders are India’s Taj Mahal, Jordan’s Petra, Brazil’s statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid and the Colosseum in Rome.

A woman was subject to repeated breathalyzer tests in a futile attempt to charge her with drinking. Liquor consumption by Muslims was forbidden in Islamic country, Malaysia. The woman was singled out because she had been caught wearing revealing clothes and singing in a nightclub. Her attire: a pair of long, black pants and a white sleeveless top. A woman can expose her breasts anywhere in New York as long as she is feeding her baby. Two armed men concealed themselves in a burqa, or long head-to-toe robes with veils worn by Muslim women, and promptly got away with $40,000 from a bank in Sarajevo. As the guards, staff and customers thought they were women, the robbers did not raise any suspicion until it was too late. The customers were made to lie on the floor while the daring robbers emptied tills and escaped with their loot.
