L.A. Sheriff Investigates Paris Hilton’s Special Treatment in Jail

Was Paris Hilton given special treatment during her 23 days in jail for violating probation in an alcohol-related driving incident? The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has opened an internal investigation into whether Paris Hilton received special treatment in jail.
The internal investigation will examine whether the 26-year-old hotel heiress had free access to a cell phone instead of queue up to use a pay phone at certain hours. The probe will also determine whether Paris Hilton received a new jail uniform instead of a recycled one given to many inmates. Finally, whether she had her mail delivered by a captain instead of inmate trusties.
The department was also accused of giving Paris Hilton special treatment when Sheriff Lee Baca released her from jail for medical reasons after just three days in jail only. She was ordered to send back to jail the next day to complete her sentence until June 26.
“We’re going to investigate it and get to the bottom of it and find out exactly what happened,” said Steve Whitmore, the spokesman for the L.A. Sheriff’s Department.
