Sex is only a useful advertising tool when selling to men

Programs with overtly sexual content appeared to interfere with viewers’ ability to remember the commercials, according to the study.

A recent study breaks a myth that advertisement between sexually dominated shows able to sell product as compare to other shows. More particularly, women are less attracted towards such advertisement, ever most of them not able to recognize ads or product for long!

The study conducted at the Department of Psychology at University College London by Ellie Parker and Adrian Furnham.

Study author Furnham says, “The fact that recall of adverts was hindered by sexual content in the programmes suggests that there is something particularly involving or disturbing about sexual programmes. Interestingly this is something that is also found in programmes with aggressive content.”

“Sex seems to have a detrimental effect on females recall for an advertisement,” says Parker.

“Sex is only a useful advertising tool when selling to men,” Parker further adds.
