A woman in San Diego was convicted of murdering her husband with arsenic so that she could cash in on his US$250,000 life insurance policy. She had thence used the money for a breast enlargement operation.

The heartless woman, Cynthia Sommer, wanted a more luxurious lifestyle and she couldn’t enjoy the lifestyle that she had with her husband’s US$1,700 salary. After the payment of the insurance policy, the 33-year-old woman enjoyed herself in wild parties and had casual sex with multiple partners.

Gigi Lai – “Goddess of Beauty.” (爱美神)

Gigi Lai is a Hong Kong actress under contract to the TVB television channel. Gigi is very well known for her beautiful image and her love of beauty, the Hong Kong media has dubbed her the nickname “Goddess of Beauty.” (爱美神).

She very famoust with Hong Kong series of “War And Beauty” recently. Gigi’s character, Yuk Ying in the TVB serial War and Beauty, was very outstanding. However, her heavy breathing in her crying scenes drew some criticism from the audience. Gigi won the TVB Most Popular Actress Award in 2004 for her role in War & Beauty. This win was to become a hotly debated controversy (see War & Beauty page). Gigi has since become very popular with fans from Hong Kong and mainland and many Asian countries after the huge success of War and Beauty. She is now one of the most popular actresses in TVB.
