The industrial accident was happened at the DRS Technologies building at 645 Anchors Street, on May 1, 2008, at around 2pm.

The man shook his flip-open cell phone off his belt, kicked off one shoe and using the other foot to help pull off the sock, dialed 911 using his big toe.

When the rescue team arrived, they used a thick metal bar to pry the machinery off his arms. The unidentified man was airlifted to a Pensacola hospital immediately and he was out of the hospital on Friday night.

“We’re just so grateful he’s doing OK,” said Rich Goldberg, spokesman for the man’s employer, DRS Technologies.
