A Tibetan woman, Amai Cering, who was born in March 16 in 1891, celebrated her 117th birthday in Lhasa on March 16, 2008. She is the oldest person in Tibet.

The local government and fellow villagers in Jiarong village, Lhasa, Tibet, celebrated for her birthday. She looked happy at her birthday party eventhough she can’t hear the birthday song when they sang for her due to her hearing have deteriorated in recent years.

She has two sons and two daughters but both her sons and one daughter had passed away.

Amai Cering is now staying at a government pension with her daughter Yangjian and her 36-year-old granddaughter Xiaobai, who is taking care for both her mother and grandmother.

Her daily life is very simple; she wakes up at 8 a.m. everyday and goes to bed at 5 p.m., and eats four meals a day.
According to her granddaughter, she has good memory and likes to talk about the old days.
