Is there something about a face that sells more celebrity magazines or tabloids? The surprising answer may be that charm and grace sell better than tartness and bad behaviour. Jennifer Aniston tops the first ever Forbes.com analysis of top-selling famous faces. The 38-year old actress has appeared on almost every magazine that matters and her face reportedly sold more than five million copies. Aniston’s ex-husband, Brad Pitt, comes second followed by Scarlett Johansson, the darling Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon, sweet Katie Holmes, Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Hudson, Valerie Bertinelli and Kelly Ripa.

What is surprising is that Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Beyonce Knowles and Jessica Simpson are not on the list. The public is sick of the antics and publicity stunts of these famous women. The analysis of celebrities’ tabloid appeal was calculated through the number of issues a cover sold with the magazine’s newsstand sales. Of course, a sexy body is a prerequisite to be in the list. But the results show that a beautiful face, a sexy body and outrageous behaviour are not enough – one needs inner beauty and something special (be it talent or personality) to have long-lasting appeal.
