In skyscraper-crazy Dubai, tall isn’t enough. In a design to be unveiled today in the oil-rich emirate, David Fisher, an Italian-Israeli architect, has dreamed up a 68-story combination hotel, apartment and office tower where the floors would rotate 360 degrees. Each floor would rotate independently, creating a constantly changing architectural form according to Wall Street Journal.

Each storey of the tower is build like a doughnut shape and attach to the center core which will house elevators , emergency exits and other utilities. So how each floor can rotate independently is by using wind turbines placed between which generates needed power , and finally give each occupant to have 360 degrees great viewing. However, the spinning is much slower than what the video shown.

The World’s Tallest Rotating Skyscraper in Dubai

The patented idea came about while looking at condominiums for sale in Miami several years ago. He noticed the much lower price tags for units without water views until one friend boasted her building is the only one that has both views of the Hudson River and the East river.

In addition, there is another local developed 30 storey height , 200 units condominium tower power by solar panel which is able to rotate one revolution per day.

In another comment , Dubai’s building spree is powered by massive government investment and money pouring in from individual investors from around the Middle East, especially people looking to park their oil wealth in real estate according to Wall Street Journal.

David Fisher called it dynamic architecture and only cost US$330 million to build as compared to others high rise building but it will be sold at a premium for its landmark location. The construction will start in six month time and complete in 22 months thereafter.
But concern rise immediately to the terrorism like 9/11 , unlike the rest of the world , Dubai is the safest and peaceful city in the world to live in.

It is indeed an amazing and yet adventurous architecturally, and long known for its oil petroleum country will run out in probably a century and started ahead to invest into its future in education and a world class financial hub.
