Which animal likes homosexual sex, sometimes with up to five females at a time? The answer is the cuddly koala, ingenious to Australian soil. Scientists monitoring the marsupials noted that the females rejected the advances of the males but willingly have sex with female koalas that approached them immediately after. Multiple females were known to mount each other simultaneously. But this homosexual tendency was only confined to koalas in captivity. Wild koalas remained heterosexual. For every one heterosexual encounter, there were three homosexual interactions, according to studies by scientists.

Lesbiann koalas are probably the result of stress in captivity or hormonal changes. Scientists also suggested that females in captivity may do it to attract males. But this theory is somewhat dubious for the females actually rejected the males’ advances to mate. The phenomenon was also confined to males only. Males didn’t engage in homosexual interactions.
