Gillian Chung Apologizes For Sex Photos Scandal

After two weeks of silence from the victims of sex photos scandal, one of the victims Gillian Chung appeared on Monday, accompanied by Charlene Choi, her singing partner in the female pop duo Twins, apologized to her fans for a series of naked photos that widely circulated on the Internet and the scandal have been plastered across front pages of local newspapers for nearly two weeks.

“I admit I was very naive, very silly in the past, but now I’ve grown up,” Gillian Chung said after her first public comment since hundreds of her naked photos showing her alone or in bed with actor Edison Chen were posted online.

“I want to thank my company, family and friends for their concern,” she said without mentioning the sex photos.

“As for the influence this incident has had on society, I apologize. In the coming days I will continue to focus on my work and face up to my life,” she added. Gillian did not answer any questions from reporters during the press conference.

Gillian Chung’s management company, Emperor Entertainment Group, earlier said the photos had been digitally altered. After the press conference, it is quite clear that the scandal photos involved Gillian Chung, Bobo Chan, Cecilia Cheung, Rachel Ngan, Mandy Chen Yu Ju, Candice Chan Sze Wai and Vincy Yeung are not manipulated with computer software.
