Turkey banned the world’s most popular video website YouTube for second time. Starts on Jan. 18, 2008, Internet surfers in Turkey will see the message “Access to this web site has been suspended in accordance with decision no: 2008/55 of T.R. Ankara 12th Criminal Court of Peace” when they access to YouTube.

Some media sources say that a video compared Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, founding father and first president of the Republic of Turkey with a monkey could be the problem video to cause YouTube banned in Turkey.

Nobody knows how long the ban would last but YouTube officials issued a statement saying the company hoped access would be re-established quickly.

YouTube was banned first time in Turkey for the same reason in March 2007, but the website was backed to normal two days later after the offending videos were removed from the website.
