Dead Old Lady Seated in Armchair for Two Years

A German man left his dead mother seated in armchair for two years. The old lady died at 92 of natural causes in the armchair in July 2005. Her son who is staying with her didn’t organize a funeral for her. The man said he could not face organizing a funeral of his mother.

A doctor was called to the scene when the old lady died and he gave her son a death certificate of the old lady but he didn’t register the death.

The man told police he could not bear to move his mother. He said he never entered the room again where his dead mother was seated.

This case was revealed when his neighbors called and reported it to the police. Police have started an investigation for violating German burial law.
