The smile of a man applying sun lotion on the woman, the half exposed tits and buttocks, the laughter of children and the tanned sweaty skin of beachgoers belie the risks they are being exposed to. It’s not sharks or the red tide. Nor is it sexual diseases or AIDS. Rather, it’s skin cancer and global warming.

Many activists across the US are campaigning to call for a reduction in green house emissions as a prelude to US Earth Day. They formed a human postcard on Capitol Hill, carried placards in a street demonstration and chanted “Two, four, six, eight; Cut the carbon we can’t wait.’
