The 30-million-dollar Skywalk glass bridge is extending 70 feet over the rim and is suspending 4000 feet above the Colorado River.
The stringent of engineering requirement puts the structure to withstand at least by 400 percent above standard , as heavy as 71 fully loaded Boeing 747 airplanes at more that 71 million pounds.It was put in place from the edge of the canyon wall by industrial pulley system and counterbalance with half million pounds of steel at its rear end which was welded into anchor canyon rock.
Unbelievable magnificient engineering feat as more than one million pounds of steel is used to making the construction of Great Grand Canyon Skywalk Bridge , and truely “walks like an eagle” dream becomes a reality.
