Prince Charles calls for ban on McDonald Fast Food

At a public health awareness campaign today, Prince Charles called for a ban on McDonalds food,

saying avoiding the fast food is the key for a healthy lifestyle.

Prince Charles was touring the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre in Abu Dhabi with the Duchess of Cornwall when he asked a nutritionist, “Have you got anywhere with McDonald’s, have you tried getting it banned? That’s the key.”

Charles is an advocate of organic food and royal observers say it is no mistake he made the comments in a place where he knew they would be picked up by the media.

The royal couple watched on as a group of children chose from “good” and “bad” snacks for their school lunches.

McDonald’s called Charles’s remark “disappointing.” “This appears to be an off-the-cuff remark, in our opinion. It does not reflect our menu or where we are as a business,” a McDonald’s spokeswoman said.

Princess Diana often took her sons, William and Harry, to a McDonald’s located opposite Windsor Castle.

Charles has already called for a ban of genetically modified food in Britain.
