Miss Nevada USA, Katie Rees, was stripped of her title last week after racy photos of her appeared on the Internet, pageant officials said. These photos show Katie Rees, 22, kissing other young women, exposing one of her breasts and pulling down her pants to show her thong underwear at a Party in Tampa, Florida. The president of the Miss Universe Organization, Paula M. Shugart, commented that Katie Rees has been relieved of her duties as Miss Nevada USA 2007.

Katie Rees was supposed to compete in the Miss USA 2007 pageant but now everything has gone. She won the Miss Nevada USA 2007 title in a state pageant held in Las Vegas on 8 October 2006; it was her first attempt at this title. Rees was crowned by outgoing titleholder Lauren Scyphers. Rees’ dismissal comes two days after Miss USA Tara Conner was allowed to keep her tiara when she admitted underage drinking at New York bars and agreed to go into rehab and undergo drug testing.

Donald Trump, who co-owns Miss Universe with NBC, gave Conner a second chance after meeting with her. Trump mentioned that Corner was a good person with a good heart and deserved to keep her title.

However, there will be no comeback for Rees. Shugat said first runner-up Helen Salas will assume the title and compete at the next Miss USA pageant on March 23 in Los Angeles.
